[EN] Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, son of Diego de Vivar, El Cid Campeador, Lord of Valencia, was the greatest knight this earth has ever seen. He fell in battle, and even in death fought against the enemy that was knocking at the doors of his people, beaming the brave soldiers that rode till the end by his side.

[EN] There exists another world, inaccessible to humans, that has developed its history at the same time as the Earth. It is known by its human-like natives as Pichania, and the few humans who knew of its existence called it "where evil came from". During the most ancient eras, the inhabitants of Pichania knew about several bridges or portals (picjqnsis) that linked the two worlds, and that only could be crossed by them, in both directions. When humans tried to cross, they disintegrated without a trace. After the Second Great Cataclysm, all portals became inaccessible except one at the northernmost edge of Pichania, known since then simply as the Picjqnsi. Or at least, that's what people say... Since then, many pichanos have crossed the bridge, almost always returning and carrying terrestrial objects with them. This is how Pichania has developed technologically at the same time as the Earth, although maybe a few years behind. About a thousand years ago, a little boy was lost inside a cave in Central Aqooadhia. After several days exploring the cave in an attempt to get out of it, he finally saw a light. Believing it was the exit, he went towards it and appeared on what seemed to be the outside. But there he found himself facing the sea, in a place with a totally different landscape than the one he knew. Nearby, he saw a fortified city that seemed to penetrate into the waters. He managed to sneak into the city, and for some time he lived on the street, usually stealing and sometimes begging. One day a married couple of Muladi aristocrats of Mozarabic origin, who could not have children, saw something in the child that caught their attention and decided to adopt him. They assumed, by their appearance, that he was an orphaned Moorish boy. He soon learned that he lived in the east of the Iberian Peninsula, in a city called Peñíscola, and that it was a time of wars, conquests, reconquests, attacks from the sea and betrayals. He learned Arabic and also other languages that at the beginning cost him time to differentiate: Spanish, Catalan and Aragonese. He forgot his mother tongue and finally forgot his original name and homeland. But his non-human instincts remained with him. When he grew up, he was soon known for his fierceness and cruelty in battle, earning the nickname of “the Wolf”. He rose rapidly in power until he was crowned king of Mursiya, formerly known as Myrtea, land of myrtle. In addition to his brutality, he stood out for his strategic intelligence and he managed to make his kingdom extend to Seville in the west. He ordered the construction of a large palace surrounded by endless gardens for him. He lived adopting the customs that interested him the most from both the Muslim religion and the Christian culture of the area. He boasted that he had the greatest harem with the most beautiful women and that he was the man who ate the most ham in the world. This, coupled with his unfair way of imparting justice, made him earn enemies everywhere. On several occasions he was betrayed and almost murdered, which at the end of his life caused him to see conspiracies against him behind each corner, behind each wall, behind each lattice... And in most cases, he was right. His suspicions made him murder one of his daughters and several of his grandchildren, as well as to lock two of his viziers in a tower until they died of hunger. None of that affected him in the least: he had children, grandchildren and advisers to spare. The Wolf King died after months of agony due to a strange disease. He never knew that the disease had been caused by poisoning.

Yellow bile. Phlegm. Black bile. These are the four humors determined by the Hippocratic school. In the neighborhoods that surround the city of Seville, often covered by the mist of the end of autumn, the poor are crowded into their barracks and squeeze around the light of a lamp. Whispering, they beg God to avoid the cruel Black Death hold them with her skeletal fingers. The doctor moves around the stables, streams and graves of the place, looking for swollen bodies covered with cerulean buboes. When his assistants drag a good number of defenestrates to the workshop, a sinister procedure begins. The doctor, clinging to the stained scrolls of the Chirurgia Magna, recites the names of those Celestial Intelligences that Persians worshiped, and executes strange ablutions and psalms. His aim is to find —through the corruption of the flesh— a knowledge that, since preadamitic ages, has been forbidden to man. [ES] Sangre. Bilis. Flema.

[EN] Veremundo is a monk, dweller of a far monastery located high in the region of Las Alpujarras, in Sierra Nevada. He always looks gloomy to the rest of the members of the order, and his face shows deep remorse and concern. Some say he abandons his cell during the night to go deep into the riffs and crags of the mountain, suspecting he follows some dark and unknown purpose far away, in the distant peaks. But Veremundo never perpetrated heresy or crime apart from one: to contemplate the stars. Every night he hides a small telescope under his habit and climbs the steep paths to meet the night sky. His remorse grows with every incursion, as he is aware that he will soon be exposed. He knows about those who burned alive for lesser crimes. And even worse: he knows they were right.

[EN] Sanguinem fratris (blood brother) tells the story of Don Manuel Murillo, Knight of the religious and military order of Alcantara. With Saint Julian’s green cross on his white robe, he is sent on a mission by the master of the order himself: free the world, with the aid of his brethren, of all physical extension of the most hideous out-of-hell sins. Unnatural beasts, invocations, heresy and the darkest paganism, still alive in the heart of the world. Everything is real and must be exterminated. But this mission must be kept secret, without hope for any kind of reward and great lowliness, because God disavows those who make good not because of duty, but to gain something in return. Those are beyond soldiers, moral examples. This is how Don Manuel gets word about a clan known as “The Darkheart”, that arrived from distant lands, trying to settle and make business in the region. He suspects that they are vampires, impure and not worthy of the rest of the holy land, the reason why they dwell among the living, feeding on them. What Don Manuel doesn’t know is that he is blinded by his pride and overconfidence, small sins that darken and vile his crusade. Believing himself superior and better prepared than anyone, he rides to the castle where the clan hides. He has forgotten his vows, the ability to think cold and his God, as he is invaded by the rage. Now he is closer to the beast he swore to hunt, and further from The Lord. In his last moments of life, Don Manuel Murillo could not say if he had faild his mission because of his sins, vanity and believing himself better than the others, or simply because his enemies where truly abhorrent beasts, like the master said, thus being punished by God, instead of the infidels. He accepted this as the wish of The Lord, as if could serve as redemption. There was none for him. There would be no absolution, nor eternal rest, nor sacred burial ground to remember his name. He would be erased from history for the shame he brought upon his brother in defeat. But the Darkheart had plans for him. What a better guardian tan one of the worthiest knights of the order of exterminators? What a better example for other killers that would try to attempt to end them than the sword that could not defeat them? If this would not stop them, it would serve as warning. Don Manuel would be their slave, a sort of empty carcass devoid of all life and lucidity, but with the full force he had when presenting battle, protecting their new masters. The perfect punishment... be it from the hand of God, or the Darkheart’s. - NOTES: Hashen Nütmen is inspired by the literary works of Aixa Vizuete, and as such (with her permission) characters like the clan Darkheart are her property. They’ve been ceded for this piece and the rest of the songs that form the album that will be available early 2020, which tells the history of said clan. In the same manner, “Hashen Nütmen” forms part of the vampiric language created by the author for her literary universe.

[EN] The right moment, the right man, the right circumstance. He was indeed chosen for a purpose: to warn of a doom who no one can know of, because no one can comprehend him. The Moon, daughter of another one, much bigger, that belongs to another planetary system, was sent to give life, to protect and to warn of many perils to the people on the Earth, amongst other planets. Daughters of the first Moon, sent to protect and give to everyone who is worthy. He was chosen for a purpose, all his life, his suffering, his hunger, his thirst, his experiences have been of vital importance for him to be elected in that precise moment, in which the Moon penetrated his mind, transferring to him what’s to come in a too cryptic way. He went mad, unable to express what he was perceiving. So, he screamed with incoherent words the doom that was coming, not knowing when. Finally, meaningful words came from his mouth. With difficulty, he rose from the ground, dusting off his robes, and with the help of his old walking stick, he wandered with clumsy yet hasty steps to there where people listened: “The lands that once were yours, will be taken by someone whose looks have never been seen before here. Your wives will be tainted, your homes raided, your sons butchered! And no one will be able to stop it, unless you do something! Listen closely, I have seen them! They are dark skinned, strangely clothed and bear wield curved blades! Though I have always been blind, thanks to Her I know what it is to see, and how do they look, the ones who will take what is rightfully yours!” ¡Los he visto gracias a ella!

[EN] La Dama de Elche (Dama d'Elx in Valencian) is an Iberian limestone sculpture dating from the 5th or 4th century B.C., found in an archaeological site near the city of Elche, in southeastern Spain. The sculpture shows the bust of a luxuriously dressed woman. Little is known about the Iberian culture within which that lady probably lived, but it is known that they were here for much longer than any other culture that came later in colony or conquest. In a land with diverse richness from many peoples that inhabit it, she might be with others a point of union: La Dama de Elche’s legacy, the memory of Viriatus and other Iberian heores and figures still present in these peoples' subcousciousness.
