Sanguinem fratris (blood brother) tells the story of Don Manuel Murillo, Knight of the religious and military order of Alcantara. With Saint Julian’s green cross on his white robe, he is sent on a mission by the master of the order himself: free the world, with the aid of his brethren, of all physical extension of the most hideous out-of-hell sins.
Unnatural beasts, invocations, heresy and the darkest paganism, still alive in the heart of the world. Everything is real and must be exterminated. But this mission must be kept secret, without hope for any kind of reward and great lowliness, because God disavows those who make good not because of duty, but to gain something in return. Those are beyond soldiers, moral examples.
This is how Don Manuel gets word about a clan known as “The Darkheart”, that arrived from distant lands, trying to settle and make business in the region. He suspects that they are vampires, impure and not worthy of the rest of the holy land, the reason why they dwell among the living, feeding on them.
What Don Manuel doesn’t know is that he is blinded by his pride and overconfidence, small sins that darken and vile his crusade. Believing himself superior and better prepared than anyone, he rides to the castle where the clan hides. He has forgotten his vows, the ability to think cold and his God, as he is invaded by the rage. Now he is closer to the beast he swore to hunt, and further from The Lord.
In his last moments of life, Don Manuel Murillo could not say if he had faild his mission because of his sins, vanity and believing himself better than the others, or simply because his enemies where truly abhorrent beasts, like the master said, thus being punished by God, instead of the infidels. He accepted this as the wish of The Lord, as if could serve as redemption. There was none for him.
There would be no absolution, nor eternal rest, nor sacred burial ground to remember his name. He would be erased from history for the shame he brought upon his brother in defeat. But the Darkheart had plans for him.
What a better guardian tan one of the worthiest knights of the order of exterminators? What a better example for other killers that would try to attempt to end them than the sword that could not defeat them?
If this would not stop them, it would serve as warning. Don Manuel would be their slave, a sort of empty carcass devoid of all life and lucidity, but with the full force he had when presenting battle, protecting their new masters. The perfect punishment... be it from the hand of God, or the Darkheart’s.

- NOTES: Hashen Nütmen is inspired by the literary works of Aixa Vizuete, and as such (with her permission) characters like the clan Darkheart are her property. They’ve been ceded for this piece and the rest of the songs that form the album that will be available early 2020, which tells the history of said clan.
In the same manner, “Hashen Nütmen” forms part of the vampiric language created by the author for her literary universe.

Sanguinem fratris (hermano de sangre) narra la historia del caballero Don Manuel Murillo, de la orden militar religiosa de Alcántara. Con la cruz de San Julián, de color verde, sobre su hábito blanco, tiene una misión que cumplir, encomendada por el maestre en persona: librar al mundo junto con otros hermanos de todo aquello que supone una extensión física de los pecados más horrendos, escapados del infierno.
Bestias sobrenaturales, invocaciones, herejías y el paganismo más oscuro, aun vivos en el corazón del mundo. Todo es real, y debe ser exterminado. Pero esta misión debe llevarse a cabo en secreto, bajo la mayor de las humildades y sin esperar a cambio recompensa espacial alguna, pues Dios repudia a todos aquellos que no hacen el bien por deber, sino por la compensación. Son pues, además de soldados, ejemplo moral.
Así es como Don Manuel tiene noticias de un clan conocido como los Darkheart, llegados de tierras lejanas, que buscan hacer negocios en la zona. Sospecha que son vampiros, impíos y no dignos del descanso de la tierra sagrada, motivo por el que se encuentran entre los vivos, alimentándose de ellos.
Lo que Don Manuel Murillo no sabe es que el orgullo que le impulsan y la confianza que le motivan son también pequeños pecados que oscurecen y envilecen su cruzada.
Creyéndose superior, mejor preparado y más digno que nadie, acude al castillo donde se oculta el clan. Ha olvidado su humildad, su capacidad de pensar con frialdad y a Dios, y actúa cegado por la ira. Cada vez se encuentra más cerca de las bestias que dice quiere asesinar, y menos del Señor.
En sus últimos momentos de vida, Don Manuel Murillo no supo decir con certeza si había fallado en su misión por sus propios pecados, por la vanidad y creer que era mejor cualquiera que le rodeaba, o por que sus enemigos no eran en realidad las bestias abominables que decía el maestre, y por lo tanto Dios le estaba castigando a él, en lugar de a infieles. Aceptó esto último como la voluntad del Altísimo, como si esto pudiese servir de redención... pero no la habría para él.
No habría absolución, ni habría descanso eterno, ni sepultura sagrada que recordase su nombre. Sería borrado de la historia por la vergüenza de sus hermanos ante la derrota. Pero los Darkheart tenían planes para él.
¿Qué mejor guardián que uno de los caballeros más notables de una orden de exterminadores? ¿Qué mejor ejemplo para otros asesinos que intentasen acabar con ellos que la espada que no pudo vencerles?
Si no servía para detenerles, debía servir como advertencia. Don Manuel sería su esclavo. Una especie de carcasa vacía de toda vida y lucidez, pero con la misma fuerza que tuvo cuando cargaba en batalla, protegiendo a sus nuevos amos. El castigo perfecto, ya fuera por mano de Dios, o de los Darkheart.

- NOTAS: Hashen Nütmen se inspira en las obras literarias de Aixa Vizuete y como tal (con su permiso) personajes como el clan Darkheart son de su propiedad. Han sido cedidos para esta obra y el resto que conforman el disco que verá la luz a principios de 2020, y que contará la historia de dicho clan.
Del mismo modo, el nombre del proyecto (“Hashen Nütmen”) forma parte del lenguaje vampírico creado para la ocasión del universo literario de la autora.
